How can Peak Oil Effect Food production and distribution?


A lot of people tend to forget the importance of fossil fuels to our food distribution and production. The fertilizers that we spray on out produce is made form petrochemicals that are manufactured using fossil fuels. The transportation cost to send bananas grown in South America is a monumental waste of fuel. As fuel prices go up, so will the prices we pay on food. The only way you protect your self from is to grow your own food. Here is a video talking about the dangers that peak oil will inevitably cause the prices of food to increase dramatically. Everyone that has been shopping for 50 years or starting to see huge price increases in food at the local supermarket. It’s time we get the facts about what is going on and do something about it.
