National Geographic Magazine: Our Dwindling Food Variety.

In a recent article from National Geographic Magazine reported that the amount of heirloom seed varieties has decreased dramatically since 1903.  They have decreased at an alarming rate of 93%, and demonstrates the importance of owning your own heirloom seed bank.  Below is an image that depicts the massive decrease of heirloom varieties, that are the result of the use of hybrid seeds in commercial and non commercial cultivation.
